Steinway-Approved Technician | Josh Gaither
Volunteer Piano’s own Josh Gaither is one of the only Steinway Approved Technicians and members of the Steinway Authorized Service Plan in Tennessee. He has completed all seminars, including the Spirio seminar at the Steinway and Sons factory located in Astoria, New York, and he was hand-selected by Steinway New York to join the SASP program. Additionally, Josh is a preferred technician of Steinway Piano Gallery of Nashville whom he has worked very closely for more than a decade. Steinway and Sons describe a Steinway Approved Technician as:
“The piano tuners in our network offer the highest level of service. We have worked with them extensively and they have attended special training classes at the Steinway factory in New York. Collectively, they are among the best in their field and have many years of experience. Our piano tuners are the same tuners that work on pianos in prestigious concert venues and recording studios — and for some of the world’s greatest musicians.
Every piano tuner in our network has been thoroughly vetted by Steinway & Sons. The experience of each technician is evaluated and his or her professional status is verified. If you own a Spirio, we will assign a Spirio-trained technician to service your instrument. Spirio calibration training is highly specialized and involves the regulation of electronic components to ensure performance accuracy.”
There are several Steinway Authorized Service Plans that you can select from. The basic tuning package is at a minimum of a 2-hour appointment. During this 2-hour appointment, if the tuning is completed, Josh will focus on cleaning, voicing/tone building, regulation, or anything else your piano may need.

“Josh (and the entire staff) at Volunteer Piano couldn’t be more gracious, accommodating, and professional. My 1914 Steinway O is always in good hands.”
